SENSU ORCHIS – an exhibition at art gallery
SENSU ORCHIS is a photography exhibition at the IAXAI art gallery. Maria Tehia presented the last works from this series. Small spaces allow for a very intimate presentation of Maria’s works. Each photo is illuminated by an independent light source. This approach to displaying graphics allows for their unique viewing. Viewers have very close contact with the work. Dark works reflect light, fluorescent ones glow with a mysterious light. This exposure technique allows you to create unique visual impressions.
The exhibition at the IAXAI art gallery had a unique character. All images are the same size. Presented on the gallery walls, they arrange themselves in an abstract rhythm. Viewers had the impression of a world unreal. This way they entered a new space – unusual, unique and very surprising. In four rooms of the art gallery, the curator arranged the paintings so that the viewer could contact each painting independently.
Show at art gallery
All pictures hang exactly at eye level. The presented exhibition in the art gallery is an example of abstract creativity. The artist adopted nature as the theme of her works. Abstract deformations of orchid flowers are presented. The unique colors of the works, differing from the natural colors, is an indicator of the nature of Maria Tehia’s work. Colors are used freely and creatively. Intense colors create strong accents on the walls. The exhibition in the art gallery gives an idea of the decorativeness of those hanging in the interiors.
The exhibition at the IAXAI art gallery lasted fourteen days. The small rooms of the art gallery present several dozen works. Nearly 150 people visited the exhibition during the opening. Among them were art critics, curators and collectors. The result of the exhibition were new proposals to present the SENSU ORCHIS series.
